A REVIEW
The wife and I arrived a few minutes late which is not unusual for us. Christine Davis (the animal communicator) was already speaking. Basically she was giving us a few examples of how animal communication had affected her and how she came to realize the horse she was meant to have. She went on to explain some examples and advantages really communicating with your horse may have. She also went on to say that you do not really have to have ESP ( My definition not hers) or whatever as long as you pay attention to your horse. This may be by facial / eye expression body language or whatever a particular person may be ' attuned/ attentive to.' She pointed out that horses can communicate with almost any part of their body and so people may see these areas and not others.
Now first off, I am not asking you to accept or deny the DR.Dolittle school of talking to animals, the same with believing or disbelieving in ESP or whatever. She by the way does not claim to be Dr. Dolittle, or a great Maharaja or anything of the sort. BUT,, and this is my important point ( yes even I have one now and then)...To ME, one thing is very clear, she does have an intuitive ( as a generically accepted word ) connection / insight to horses. This as well may be reinforced by the fact that she is also a horse massage 'technician or therapist' whichever is the right term. Through the whole session she was very at ease with the horses, which you would expect with a horse or two, and the horses were very at ease with her,,pretty good considering that there were more than a few horses she consulted on. More than a dozen I think. As we all know the more horses, the better the chance finding one or two that just don't want to bother with you.
Some of the things were pretty well what you might expect and anyone who has dealt with horses may have expected, feed me this or that, love me more, spend more time with me...etc. These may seem trivial and maybe even campy until you think that horses are not people and that they would not think as we do. I have heard it said that horses have the intelligence, reasoning pattern, equivalence to a five year old human or somewhere in that area. Add to this that they live, and see in a completely different environ than we do by genetic history and present circumstance. Most of what she communicated was along this line and no, although we did have some extremely intelligent horses they did not formulate at a college level.. A good sign to me.
Another good sign to me was that she did not try to tout this product or that product, as in " your horse, needs an Imus Saddle " or " your horse wants such and such brand feed". She did mention a product here or there that a horse may need while making it clear she was not selling them or advertising them. It was a case of your horse would benefit from this particular product which I can recommend ( as knowing it works ) or if you prefer you can make something similar yourself with this and that ingredient.
What came out aside from the somewhat predictable, were things that she intuited from the horse or owner. Things that she did not know and the owner may not have realized that they ( as owner ) knew. After some of these disclosures the owner would nod or even say I wondered about that or realize they never paid attention to it, realizing it now that it was mentioned. There were other areas that only the owners or their friends knew about, that Christine brought out, which makes it easy to confirm. There were also disclosures that even the owner did not know.
Of these there were the two types an emotional / psychological level and the physical level. Some may have been spotted by a good trainer,or therapist, others not. One thing to consider though is that from what I've heard she has been doing this for a while...Now anyone doing just a canned routine or even a fishing routine would be spotted and discredited in short order. There are always enough skeptics out there that will discredit anyone doing anything they can't do or don't want to put in the effort to do. One other point that I felt, however she personally views it, she believes in how and what she does..Now we may not all believe in the same things, but we must respect someone's efforts for pursuing what they believe.
However you want to accept it or explain it one thing that was clear to me is that the owners walked away happy and with what they felt was a fair fee, and their horses will be much better off with more specialized attention. So is it worth going to?, depends on your way of thinking, if you can accept it fine, if you can't fine, as long as you look at the outcome without the means. The only ones that would not really benefit are those that already know everything there is to know and can't ( or don't need to ) learn anything more. We all know a few of them...I myself think that we can never learn everything about horse..Geeez,,,I've been with my wife for years, 24-7 and still don't know everything about her. She can still say or do things I didn't see coming...and I still don't know how she thinks at times.. Can I predict what she'll say or do, most times, but not everytime...And I'm sure she's in the same boat with me. Let's face it many of us expect to know a horse as well or better while spending a lot less time with them than we do with our family.
