DEC 5th:. Trail ride to start from a location to be named off end of Basin Road. Ride will start at 9 am and be a loop
ride of about 3-4 hours duration. $25.00 donation includes a lunch.
This ride will be in an area similar to that ridden for the Pregnancy Center fund raiser, which from all
accounts (I couldn't make it) was a great ride. Great scenery, interesting terrain, Joshua trees and even a few
wild horses
Dec 5 We had our first trail ride for the Saddle Bag Santa fund raiser on Saturday.
A total of eight riders and we had a great time riding up to the old corrals. Beautiful area with lots of pine. Weather was good and we all enjoyed the chili and cornbread afterwards at the trail head. Thanks to Alice Rossington for guiding the way.
DEC 12:The next event is at the Strickland arena this Saturday, . This will be an obstacle course and is open to all
member and non member PETRA for a $25.00 donation to Saddle Bag Santa for the Toys for Tots program. A lunch will be
included in the donation.
Dec 12: Well unfortunately due to the weather we had to cancel the obstacle course / arena event. It does not look like we will be able to reschedule it at this time so the next event will be the Dec 19 ride.

The last event for Saddle Bag Santa's is still planned for the Saturday 12-19 and the current wx forecast looks promising.
The gathering point will be at the turn off to the Crystal Canyon and old Hidden Valley ranch. There is a large vertical flat stone
marker on the right and a information kiosk on the left side of the road to mark the gathering point. This turnoff is approximately
5-6 miles from the turn off on hiway 160 onto the Tecopa (Old Spanish Trail) road south of Pahrump.
Ride will be an approximate 3 hour loop ride.
Registration will be at 8 AM for a 9 AM in the saddle start. Donation is $25.00 to the Saddle Bag Santa Toys for Tots program and
will include lunch at the trail head at end of the ride. If you would like to pay by check you can make payee "Toys for Tots" . If
you also want to renew your membership in PETRA for 2010 the fee is $35 for family and $25 for a single. A single check can
be written for both both membership renewal and donation to Toys for Tots with "Faith Fellowship" as payee. Faith Fellowship
will make a donation to Toys for Tots for the $25 in behalf of PETRA.
We will also be raffling off some donated items with funds going to Toys for Tots.
Remember that the Saddle Bag Santa rides are open to the public, so tell your friends and help us support this very worthwhile
charity.
