EVENTS FOR THE 2009 SEASON

SADDLEBAG SANTA'S CHILDRENS CHARITY
PRESENTS THE 4th ANNUAL CHRISTMAS SEASON
TRAIL RIDES

Saddlebag Santa is holding a series of charity horseback rides in the Pahrump Valley area.     All proceeds will go to Toys for Tots.

 

Each ride is a $25.00 Tax Deductable Donation which includes a BBQ and one Raffle Ticket.  Each ride is approximately 4 hours.

Saddlebag Santa fund raising for TOYS FOR TOTS will start in December. Events are open to public and PETRA
members for a donation of $25.00. 100% of funds raised will go to the TOYS FOR TOTS program to buy Christmas
gifts for the less fortunate kids in Nye County.
Last year's Saddlebag Santa rides raised approximately $1200 for the TOYS FOR TOTS program. We hope to do as well
if not better this year as the need will be greater with so many Nye County families being impacted by the poor economy.

DEC 5th:. Trail ride to start from a location to be named off end of Basin Road. Ride will start at 9 am and be a loop
ride of about 3-4 hours duration. $25.00 donation includes a lunch.
This ride will be in an area similar to that ridden for the Pregnancy Center fund raiser, which from all
accounts (I couldn't make it) was a great ride. Great scenery, interesting terrain, Joshua trees and even a few
wild horses

Dec 5 We had our first trail ride for the Saddle Bag Santa fund raiser on Saturday.  

A total of eight riders and we had a great time riding up to the old corrals.  Beautiful area with lots of pine.  Weather was good and we all enjoyed the chili and cornbread afterwards at the trail head.  Thanks to Alice Rossington for guiding the way.

 

 

DEC 12:The next event is at the Strickland arena this Saturday, .  This will be an obstacle course and is open to all
member and non member PETRA for a $25.00 donation to Saddle Bag Santa for the Toys for Tots program.  A lunch will be 
included in the donation.

Dec 12: Well unfortunately due to the weather we had to cancel the obstacle course / arena event. It does not look like we will be able to reschedule it  at this time so the next event will be the Dec 19 ride.

DEC 19:Trail ride...Details to be forthcoming as to location and times. The board have a few ideas for trails, but
have yet to make a selection.

Remember that the Saddle Bag Santa rides are open to the public, so tell your friends and help us support this very worthwhile
charity.
